Sincere contact with __SF__
I am not going to bug __SF__ about not being here, since people have done enough of that. But I think it's time that someone, on their own, try to contact __SF__.
I think this is necessary because if the project is no longer underway, then this part of the forum has no purpose. We wouldn't be waiting for something that isn't going to come. Maybe Caustik or someone with an e-mail address of his could contact him on their own and get an answer. Let's just go about doing this the "right" way without causing a huge stink. Admins: If you feel that this post has no purpose then go ahead and delete/close it.

I think that is a good idea myself. People commit themselves to building websites and having high hopes. I hope someone can talk to him.

Project64 almost runs every game imaginable and is, in my opinion, the best N64 emulator out there.
However, P64 has had MANY RELEASES and, like I said, runs a lot of games. So of course the forum is still alive, because there's actually stuff to post about. Xeon doesn't even emulate halo to a playable level, much less, a playable speed. I don't know why you would post something like that. Edit: Caustik, did you get a mail delivery subsystem error, or did it get recieved?

>>I completely disagree. The Project64 forum at Emutalk.net is the most active forum overall, yet it is discontinued. Xeon is an advanced Emu to run Halo like it does, and deserves as much respect as the active Cxbx.
It runs games doesnt it, Xeon doesnt. Well not enough of a game to help anyone.

So it's okay to discredit _SF_'s work just because he chooses not to post updates for you?
_SF_ did not even have to release his work. He has no obligation for anything. He has a life probably, and maybe he chooses not to update, he can do what he wants, it's his work. Just because emulators do not run commercial games does not mean they don't count like Dolwin, nSX2, Dreamemu... I'm surprised at you guys for your disrespect. You make a better emulator than _SF_ - Just try before you discredit. Geez. |

Uh, that's not even what I'm talking about, bud. >>Just because emulators do not run commercial games does not mean they don't count like Dolwin, nSX2, Dreamemu... And do they have meaningful threads and people who care about them or use them NOW? I hate hearing crap like that. All I'm saying is if he hasn't said a word to ANYONE about progress, not even caustik, don't you think there's a problem here? I'm saying that if there is no contact between him and a site moderator/administrator, then there is no point in having a forum where people keep starting meaningless threads. I'm talking about the forum, not the author or the emulator. So knock it off.

You can say that about many other forums here, like the forum now discontinued Nemu64. He is not obliged to do anything for anyone - even talk to caustik - they may not be his wishes, perhaps he wants to keep his work private, you never know. If you delete the Xeon forum, you ensure that he will never come back, even if he had personal issues and could not get to a computer.
_SF_ has already been put through loads of crap when everybody claimed his emu was fake. Personally I'd be peeved about that, and take my business elsewhere. I really feel for _SF_, he has had nothing but crap at Emuforums from everybody behind his back. |

I was one of the people defending him. I hate that stuff also.
Does there always have to be an opposer to people's opinions? If it weren't for administrators, people would never be able to make decisions. If people keep posting, "__SF__ where are you?" and getting no response, then what is there to do?

Let the admins weigh it up, it's their job ultimately. I'm sorry I had to stick up for _SF_ as he isn't here to defend himself, but it would be good just to hear from him even to say that he lost interest in the project and moved on, since a lot has been done for him at Emuforums too, such as his forum. We don't want to delete his forum and then have him return with no forum, since that would show that we no longer care about his project and that will make him unhappy.

That's exactly how I feel actually. But so far, we aren't getting ANY feedback from him. No feedback is worse than feedback saying "see ya." All I wanted out of this thread was proper contact with __SF__ to see if he even cares about his project OR forum anymore. I didn't say,"delete the forum." P.S. What the hell is the matter with ngemu? It's been crapping out for the past few days.

Like Computertrendy said, it would be good to hear from him. Since members did things for him I think he owes at least them some feedback? Do you not agree there Clements?

That sounds like the mentality of a child. If he posts an emulator and then leaves for four months without a trace, then what's the point of keeping up a forum for a dead, unfinished emulator with no progress(as far as we know)? If he comes back and the section IS gone then he will learn that you can't just bail out like that. And if he DOES come back, an administator will put the section back in. Simple. I'm not saying that __SF__ is a jerk for not finishing "our" emulator and that he owes us something. I actually think that if he doesn't show up soon, then the section SHOULD be deleted. Like I said, what's the point of keeping up a forum for a dead, unfinished emulator with no progress? I mean, what else can we do. (Razor Blade)>>Like Computertrendy said, it would be good to hear from him. Since members did things for him I think he owes at least them some feedback? Word.

He will update it when he wants to. He will also choose to be public about progress and updates as he goes along. He doesn't "owe" you anything. This section is staying because it is the closest thing to an Official Xeon page ANYONE has. He will most likely post here before anywhere else.
