55fps with fx5900/256mb - Page 2

mx cards just word and excel...just what i'd expect from a lamer.....i get 60 fps on opengl games using 4x antialsing WITH texture sharpening the gf 4 mx cards are no slouch....when it comes to games using rivatuner...

i will not even think of running any xbox emu on my current card cuz i know its outdated too....

btw why didnt you post some screen shots???

MX cards was produced, and advertised as office cards, even from NVidia themselves. Yes, it have 3d support. But the memory used is the cheapest out there, and memory is what makes the most out of any modern graphiccard, not the core.

This means, that an GeForce MX can be compared with a porche with concrete tires...
It runs. But barely compared to one of the cheaper REAL gaming cards.

Watch the previously used market for a GeForce 2 Pro or GeForce 3. The speed is x5 or x10 the speed of an freshly new mx card, and you should be able to find one really cheap, since they are several years old today.

FYI jemym my mx card was produced in 2002 my card is only a few months so...oh and about that crap about a geforce 2 being 5x times faster it sounds to me your talking outta your ass and anyone who beleives you is an idiot.....

using epsxe get 60 fps on ALL my games at 1024x768 resolution...

BTW my mxcard is an AGP one not pci one...

ok i just did i test, i got over around 300-400 fps playing thrasher: skate and destory at 1152x864. what's your point?

The geforce 3 is 5x faster than the 4MX cards. They are not gaming cards by any stretch f the imagination. They are budget cards. Cheap. Something you use when you are too poor to afford a real card.

But it is the truth.
It doesnt matter how 'late' it is. It is still a office card, produced for office applications. Cheap, so that a office can buy 20 of them.

The card is now discontinued, but before it was, nvidia listed it with features like "browsing the net, and use office applications", while the normal GF2/3/4 always have been listed as "high quality gaming"

Uh, that's comparing the geForce 2 Pro with the geForce 2 MX, not the 4. The 4 is probalby on a par with a GF2 Ultra

Mmmm. Thats true. But the only thing that is different between GeForce 2/4 mx is that the '4' have added DVD decoding and a quicker memory controller. It does not have full DX8 support, so in DX8/9 games (everything newer than 3 years), its really bad.

The geForce 3's and 4 Ti's are practicaly identical other than the second shader unit.
The 2MX and 4MX are almost identical other than the improved FSAA and DVD decoder.
Obviously in this case not taking speeds into account.
