---------- Description:
Xeon is an X-Box emulator for the PC. Currently it supports one commercial game, and support for more will be added in the future along with other features. ---------- Compatibility: Halo (NTSC version only) ---------- Requirements: Windows XP DirectX 9.0a Pentium 3/Athlon XP processor Kind of sounds fishy.... dammit the one day caustik is on vacation

Re: Xeon v1.0 released
I suppose this can only be able to just boot up the CD, not actually run it. And just the time my friend is on vacation too

I wasn't finished transfering the entire game from my Xbox to my PC, but that's what I get when I run the XBE for Halo. Props to TerrorShocked for hosting it for me. The emulator loads up, shows that image, and the whole emulator closes and restarts to sit at the menu. Also note that it created cache folders and the halo cached files are in those folders, though I did not verify that those were in fact the actual cache files.

Re: Xeon v1.0 released
OK, could someone we know verify this? I'm loathe to put up something I don't know anything about. We've had far too many fakes for that.

Can anyone say, TV overlay? this is obviously a fake. Anyways, i'll just wait for Halo on PC. Blow my money a game that won't work with my PC
This is just as fake as gCubix ( haven't heard of it? go to Google, type in gCubix, press I'm Feeling Lucky or go to the first page on the search. )

Must be some kind of driver issue then with ref mode, can't help you much there. You can try this build and see if it helps. Anyway, I'll try to improve compatibility in later versions. Believe me though, it's not a fake
. Try enabling API logging in general options and see for yourself. Also, remember that Halo's loading times are really long (around 2 minutes or so on my system).

Actually, the only XDK I have is 4627. The emulator uses Halo.ini to get the locations of the functions in the code. That file was created through reverse-engineering and function signature matching in Halo's XBE file. 3911 and 4627 are actually very similar, the only differences I found were in SetPixelShader and a few Dsound functions along with some enumerations. I'll probably release a few of the source files when I get the chance to help caustik.

Re: Xeon v1.0 released
Fake I say! We were having a chat on #ngemu, and the following info has been discovered:
(JNS) simply open the exe in a hexeditor ... 90% of the stuff are 00h :-P (JNS) and it's delphi ... not really the best choose for fast emulation :-P This emu, on first inspection, appears to be a big pile of steaming bull****. however... (Sonik|AFK) xeoncore.dll looks real tho (Sonik|AFK) XInputClose.XInitDevices....ShowConfigureDialog.In itPlugin..XGetDeviceChanges(%08X).....XGetDevices( %08X)...XInitDevices (Sonik|AFK) etc |

Hrmmm, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.... although I have a feeling I will be proven wrong.... I do think that it may be using some CXBX code. In that case you are legally obligated to make it Open Source under the GPL.... The code seems to work under only one version of the Halo XBE file... and there are a few different versions I think. Try to make it run some homebrew game.... then it may be a little more believeable.
