I got it running even on my hunk of junk PC I only hit 1 fps once however, heh.

Well, my system specs are:
Athlon XP2000+
512mb ddr
GeForce4 MX 420

I had to enable s/w rendering to get it to run. I'm using DirectX 9.0b.

I got the menu to load and then could hear snippets of sound (usually when I pressed a control button) and I got to the profile screen once, however it's hard to do a lot in 0 fps.

So it's real. Source would be very useful to maybe Caustik and others probably if _SF_ is willing.

I'm still skeptical until Xeon and Cxbx are combined.
Can't change my opinion, but i am running Halo at around 6fps on my voodoo with DX8, so it has to use D3D8.dll. Anyways, it is running, but i'm not even going to TRY to go in-game.

Dumb cable channel with thier dumb monthly tests.. i'm gonna burn down thier buliding

Re: Xeon v1.0 released

nice post, iriez.. I'd love to see shots from someone with Radeon 9500+ (like me ), not just all these gf4mx shots

(oh, and when people call computers with cpu:s faster than your own a "hunk of junk" and you get irritated about it, you know either you or your computer is getting old ) [athlon 1800xp]

Hunk of junk in comparison to these 3/4ghz beasts that are around The main hunk of junk bit is my graphics card anyhow.

I'd like to see who can get the nicest framerate on this. I managed to get in game ... slowly.

Here's what i did to get it running....

Here's the step by step guide to get ir running.

- Transfered HALO to my PC to the Xeon folder. (Actually you only need default.xbe, and Maps folder, maybe this is not real needed, keep reading)
- Run Xeon, wtih default settings.
- It did nothing, only created the chache files and stuff like that.
- So I went running to my xbox, launched halo, and waited to the main menu to load.
- Rebooted my xbox, and I transfer my Y: partition to the UtilityData folder that Xeon created (Delete all the files that Xeon created), this is why i say maybe the maps directory isn't needed (xeon crashes trying to decompress the maps)
- Run Xeon again
- And the Main menu showed up, With sound about ~15-20 fps.
- I Tried to start a game bot crashed when the map needs to be loaded.
- I repeated the steps, but this time i started a game on my xbox.
- When I tranfer all the files con my Y: partition to the UtilityData folder, i was able to get to ingame in Xeon.

Sorry for my very bad english, but its not my primary language, I hope that the process is clear.

I don't mean to sound negative but I won't believe it until someone with more than 10 posts replies verifying it. I'd try with my copy of Halo, but alas no mod chip.

Also where has _SF_ gone to? He hasn't replied in a while..

Re: Xeon v1.0 released

Well i think that so far we have a reasonable amount of proof. And just as a quick point would JanusX believe me if I posted that I had got it working? I've got over 10 posts but how do you know I'm reliable?

I'm sure lots of other emulators were said to be fake when they first started but a lot of people wont believe it until they see it on their own computers.

I'm still waiting a 'playable' GBA emulator for my PocketPC!! But a lot of people that it was impossible to play a game on the PocketPC let alone one that would run quick - well weve got a couple that run games but only at 3fps!!

Anyway lets wait an see - emulation fans seem to be quite impatient!!

Re: Xeon v1.0 released

I think we should wait for Caustik to get it to work first. Xalcker, TELL HIM HOW TO DO IT NOW!

EDIT: whoops....i didnt know there was a whole nother page! I was answering the last person on the previous page. Well, since ppl are getting it to work, I guess its real. I wonder how it'd do on my machine.....

I'd take that bet Andrew, if only I knew how much one million yen was in US dollars hehe

Anyways with the post count thing I'm just saying it'd be pretty easy to set up a new account to post verification, however it could be someone new to the forums attracted by this new xbox emu, and by chance got it to work. If it is the later then I'm all for it, it's just in my opinion we still don't have solid evidence.

Re: Xeon v1.0 released

And what did I say about X-Box emulation? I knew it would come faster than PS2 Emulation...Even if this isnt real, its still going faster.
