In regards popups: Assuming you are logged in, there are no popup ads present on this site. Nor am I aware of any popups here that would do such a thing. If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say that a spyware program has been installed on your pc without your knowledge. Goto http://www.spybot.info/ and download spybot serach and destroy. Also install a good firewall (eg zonealarm) to filter your net traffic

Since that was his first post, it's unlikely he was logged in at the time of the popup.
That sudden "installing" notice can often come as a result of merely mousing over a malicous ad (a number of crackz sites have crap like that ......not that I would know anything about such sites ). Does ngemu serve up it's ads itself, or does it use a third party? If it uses 3rd party ads, it's possible that one or more malicous ads snuck through with getting noticed by ngemu nor the site that delivers the ads. This is even more true if any of the ads are java based.
There have been a number of similar complaints here before. It's possible that it's a coincidence and that all of the affected people got it from some spyware, or another site they had open, but it's equally possible that there's a malicous ad sneaking through onto ngemu. (A single bad ad sneaking through combined with rotating ads, would explain the low ratio of people having the problem vs people not having it.)

You are exactly right about this being the first time he registered and was a non regisitered member before. If you are not registered or loggged out you will get popups from the main site for NGEmu .. anyone one of those popups could have malicous code in it.

We're not installing that stuff on purpose, it simply happens because some providers abuse our popup provider (neither ours nor their fault).

We're sorry for such problems, and we're reporting them to our provider so they can block such ads as soon as possible. Thanks for reporting them!

Here's a tip for people who run into this problem: Note what the ad that appeared at the time was, and include that in your post. If you tell the staff here that you got something trying to install itself when the visa ad with the puppies appeared, then they can tell the ad company to investigate any visa ads with puppies, and remove any bad ones they find. You'll get results much faster than if they have to go through all the ads they caryy ones by one with no real idea what they're looking for.
