Talking Sorry, but I'm going to challenge the rules a bit.

Discussions on any kind of illegal material are not permitted on Emuforums, this includes the leaked Doom3 demo and mod chips. And once again, please read through our Board Rules before you start posting, thanks.
I know I'm pushing the limits here, but it's only for the better of the board you must understand.

Is it so wild to say... oh... that mod-chips aren't illegal? Because they aren't. Using them for piracy, however, is illegal.

Back-up copies are perfectly legal, and I can see why to have them. Dear god for every time my siblings or someone else's child has destroyed a belonging of mine I got a dime... I'd be able to make up for half of my losses due to inflation. I'm looking a bit deep into my cliche analogy but you get the idea.

Okay... so... should I not bother or should we revise the rules a bit?

Oh and hello, I have returned for a bit yet again.

You're not going to win this. The reason that they are illegal here is because modchips are primarily used (these days) to play downloaded games and such. A few years ago, you may have had a argument, but with piracy as rampant as it is today, it'll take but 60 seconds or less to find a illegal game. I say keep the rule (not that you had a chance in the first place ).

Not only post in the wrong forum but challange the rules eh?

Well too bad, they aint changing ( at least for now ). Mod chips are mostly used by the majority for illegal uses, and thats a fact. When people buy Mod chips, the majority of them are doing that because they want to run illegal backups. Sure, nothing wrong with backing up your games and there might be a slight number of people who use modchips to run games of different regions or whats not, its still a fact that 90%+ of its uses are illegal. Thus discussions concerning it are prohibited.

moving..

Yours,
-Elly

Yeah, it's like saying downloading ROM is legal when you own the catridge, whilst the majorities download ROMs without owning the catridges. And like it has been said, we are not gonna change it.

WindHydra makes an excellent point. why do you need to talk about mod chips here? what's the pressing issue? there are other forums out there anyway
