define "normal"
And btw, if you like the new speeds, you "could" also like the banner and you "could" click on it so we can keep paying for this nice speed

LMAO, good one. I'll smack it a few times too if it pays for a good server to avoid those horrible slow downs and down time

May I suggest you create a dummy www2. A record or CNAME record, (preferrably CNAME) pointing to this site? That way, old links would still work.

You could create a script such as this:
Code:
<?php

header('Location: ' . strtr($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], array('http://www2.', 'http://www.')) . '?' . $_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']);

?>
Then use .htaccess to redirect everything coming from www2. to that script. (could be something like fix_hostname.php or something.)

Well, slapping it more than once a day doesn't really do any difference and might be considered spaming

I kind of guessed that so ill slap it at work in a morning and at home on a night. We have 5 natted outgoing IP addresses, I suppose so long as the IP address is from a different 'slap' then that will count? With that many people visiting everyday and so loyal to the forums, if everyone gave it a slap once a day that would hike up the revenue, surely!

Which doesn't resolve...

As Bobbi said in this thread, replace www2 with www and it should work. Its only a temporary solution for now.

I realize that, as I commented on the issue here:

http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showpost...1&postcount=13

I just thought I might also point out that old links were not the only problem, but also the links the forum is *currently* sending.
