Ngemu needs a dedicated gaming forum!

I would like to know if a forum for Ngemu that's dedicated to online gaming could be setup for Ngemu? As Xfire, steam and a few others have failed to ignite that gaming spirit of Ngemu. I was thinking that perhaps a gaming forum would suffice.

What do you guys think?

A gaming forum would not do justice enough, but that's just me.
Someone keeping a rig online as a gaming server would do the gamers among us better than the spare few cycles of the pcsx2 server ;p
Serving a few dedicaced served games plus a kaillera isnt the worst way to catter to the gamer community. It'd be 'our' playground, to which external parties would come.

well, steam and xfire seem to attract only a limited crowd.
A few threads on certain games are not enough; with a forum, I think it'd be easier for people here to find others in the games they like.

Yeah, I think people are put off a lot with all the hassle you have to go through, like downloading, installing, registering etc. I Agree with Samor here, people would find it easier because with a forum there isn't that hindrance of having to install anything, just register and you're away.

A subforum reserved for online gaming is reasonable (the existence of such a section is to expect from a gaming network).

Yeah, seems like the most reasonable thing to do at this time. Still a forum later on would be nice considering that single subforum is gonna get major full. Oh well, gotta start small I suppose.

Sounds like a real good idea imo ... I'll see what we have avaible, as gaming servers require LOTS of ressources, and which forums would be required for things to work out.

At first, I would suggest maybe a dedicated server from some free game out there.....just so everyone can play. Nexuiz or Scorched3D are my personal favorites

The community can pick which games it'd appreciate (CSS, TF2 and FEAR Combat are a must, obviously)
I personally wouldve appreciated an L2J mmorpg instance, but unless its one of us gamers maintaining a rig, with physical access... ;p

It would certainly be nice to have a playground for likeminded people and members to play on. It doesnt even cost anything significant, and any home machine and extra internet can do the trick.

I think there would be a strong support if there's a proper game selection. Especially in weekends it may be possible to set up some competitions or quality coop gaming sessions of which reports can be written at the forums.

NGEmu is a close bunch and a lot of people already play together through steam, this could make things easier for non-steam games. I'm all for this idea
