Work on NGEmu v2.5 has begun

After having the same site with tons of collected bugs for over 3 years now, we decided it's about time to fix these bugs and add new features to our forums, site and network.
This work will be done under the title "NGEmu v2.5". To give our long term members an idea of what we are currently doing and what has actually changed on the network, I'll try and keep this thread updated as good as possible with things added and changed.

Please do not reply to this thread with bugs, I won't be able to read through it. Instead, open a new thread within the "Website-Related Feedback" forum, this will rather get my attention.

Now to the changes:

1. Forum interface
If you are reading this, you most likely already noticed that the forum layout has been improved quite a lot. Misfitting images have been replaced, the whole button set has been changed and the colors and fonts fit together now.

2. User CP back online
The control panel for registered users on the mainpage is back online. Right now, you're able to control the number of news displayed on the mainpage, the categories displayed and if you want to see stickies (important news) or not.
Furthermore, you can change the look of the main page by choosing a different style. Please note, that the other styles haven't been quite configured to work with the new NGEmu yet, so use these at your own risque!
You can find the User CP on your left handed side over at Emulators - NG Emulation source for Xbox, GBA, Nintendo 64, PSP, Nintendo DS and more! !

nice!! although there is couple of things changed long time ago in this forum and I dont like it..

first, date time format for posts, used to be more accurate in the past! it was telling me when a person posted like "11:35 am, 12-31-2001" instead of ~8 years ago..

second, when attaching pictures, there was a tool tip or a balloon with how many people viewed this image.. not anymore..

The threshold could be changed so threads/posts older than 5 days or so would retain precise date

I agree. I liked the old version better as well...the trouble is that no one ever posted in it, so we just condensed it.

Do us a favor and include an option to change the page background to white. I find the current color scheme highly annoying and hard to read.

vBulletin update will soon be finished ... the backend of the server is always being updated when new stable releases are out.

Also, I hate the NGE & NGE Forum default theme.

u know those new icons (for buttons like reply and quote and others)
they have been recently added but i hate them ...... something about them felt out of context they are too shiny and happy . perhaps a new button set can be made ...I don't know just a thought ..

I prefer 3D theme instead of this terrible Win 3.1 style theme.

Theme is brilliant. IMO it should stay as is.

You can always change the theme from the default one from the control panel.

XDK, no one cares what you like/dislike, the theme is fine as is, simply because to change this theme would require redesigning the entire homepage as well.
