Exclamation wtf is going on?

I recently realized that the addresses http:// forums.ngemu.com and http:// www.forums.ngemu.com are now two totally different sites yet they are one in the same. The www. version is the one everyone is browsing and is active while the other without it is remaining the sameWhen I browse the forums, try to post, etc. my browser always defaults to the address without the www. in it.

Basically, the version without the www. is an after image of the version containing the www. So the www. is making a difference in what I see on the forums. Now I have to pre-copy every link I click on this forum and type in the www. manually each time. Sorry if this is old, but it's making things painfully hard for me. This sucks. Anyone know what's causing this? Thanks.

I don't type emuforums.com anymore, and I haven't for years (long before you joined ). Please see my edited post, the stupid URL tags f@#%ed it up. Sorry about that, I had to constantly type in the www. to fix it, that's what took so long.

oopsie, I forgot to mention it's completely normal. You can try it on any other site with subdomains.

www is only means 'world wide web'
Some websites force you to type www, but you can leave it out for most of the websites these days.
If a site requires you get type www, then it's probably an old site XD

QUOTALESS.com - 404 - PAGE NOT FOUND is the same as something.quotaless.com (thats just for the entry contact. clicking on a link proceeds with the correct syntax, not unlike how jyst typing 'emuforums' in firefox brings the correct adress)

well, for me, I still use emuforums as a url, And I don't see any difference really. but, when the forums starts to be down much last month or so, I noticed that if I typed forums.ngemu.com (brings me here) instead of emuforums.com gets me to nowhere (back then), so I use the latter as a last resort.. btw, you are a programmer and don't know the shortcuts to keyboard.. man just type "forums.ngemu" then hit CTRL+ENTER to add the prefix www. and the suffix .com

i had the same issue, i found out that i had the ips to the old server in my hostfile and when i removed them everything worked fine

and the reason why it worked with www. was because i had only set forums.ngemu.com to the old server and not www.forums.ngemu.com
