Everyone having issues with the site, Contact your ISP and have them flush the external DNS caches they usually and stupidly maintain.

Been noticing the server temporarily becoming inaccessible.. like a few minutes ago.. wierd whatever it is. would be great, if someone could maybe text message me or something when issues like this arise, if that's feasible.. for anyone who wants to make note of my number it's 647-225-2546. I'm in Toronto, Canada.

spdude, get the webhost to monitor the sql usage over the next few days, it could possibly be an sql lookup causing a loop to bring the server down.

this has been known to happen when an extremely large thread exists on the board and a person tries to search.

btw, its not the server, the server is responding to pings and file transfers fine, its the database not responding, typically caused by the host cpu spiking..

couldn't you create an email account we could pm you?

perhaps create a temporary locked sticky thread it in the bin so bots and spammers can't see it, yet all legitamite users can.

the forum was down for awhile earlier today.

I've looked about the vb boards and a few users are reporting higher server load using 3.7.0, as opposed to older versions.

I've been having a problem too, dns errors/issues with accessing the website all day today up until now, even my isp's alternative proxy didn't work for me today.

Simple way to by-pass this issue (well, sorta) is by cleaning out your internet temp folder completely and try again. Sometime, i only have to click refresh and it works.

1. i use firefox and not internet crapsplorer, and 2 i can tell the difference between memory overflow and an sql server overloading.

Yeah, it was really crazy today. The server move seems like it was a downgrade considering how much it's been down since it was changed.

Hrmm, I'll install a tool on the server now to check why people seem to have issues all the time ... this is crazy, as I *never* had any issues accessing the site from here during the past month. I'll update this place as I find any info.

For me at midnight every night here in winnipeg UTC/GMT -6 hours (7am Berlin Time) which is 7 hours behind Berlin time (which I'm guessing is pretty close to the time your timezone Bobbi) the forum start becoming kind of unresponsive for about 25 minutes to 1.5 hours. It happens sporadically at other times but this seems to happen ever night at this time.

It happens starting pretty much exactly at midnight though my time.

Perhaps skoreanime can doubly verify this since he lives in the same city as me or anyone else who lives in the same timezone as me.

I can still surf the web at lightning fast speeds during this 25min to 1.5 hour stint though so I know it isn't my internet connection.

edit: it became momentarily unresponsive for a minute again at 6:33 am. But now it seems to be working.
