Yes, pretty annoying indeed... I was under the impression members were exempt of this message, in the past? (as an advantage of registration, iirc)

0_o no...I have often gotten that message...

been getting it A LOT more these past few days though...I can hardly access the site these past 3 days aside from the rare period where I can access a few pages in succession.

For instance just now I loaded 5 pages...and the only 4 loaded...and then the whole forum hung for like 2 minutes...

and it stops mid edits, mid everything.

then again it could very easily be my ISP.....

...and then my sig vanishes...as you can see below...

I beleive the 'sig deattached' thing is a hiccup in the 3.7 branch apparently, that was still not fixed yet, as of rc3 (and is unrelated to the server moves and tinkering). it seems it mainly happens after a post edit.

I reattach my sig manually with an advanced edit (pretty much all my recently edited posts had that issue, in case anyone wanted a look at that)

It's only happened to me since the server move and the strange loading though...before that I could edit a post 10 times and nothing would change, my sig would remain as it should be...

Rikki is right here, this is a known bug in the forum software ... a bug fix should be available soon.
About the speed issues, I'm really wondering a bit ... we have times when 300 people are on and the server crawls, and times when 600 people are on and it's real fast. Most likely something to do with mail floods, I'm working on this right now.

Thanks for taking a look Bobbi. On my end things have greatly improved so it was probably as Ref said that it was linked to our ISPs and mine has probably now finally almost completely sorted itself out so it should be smooth sailing from now onwards again.

I called the host up and disabled daily backups (which now happen by default on new servers), also disabled all stats.

There's another bug related to some links when clicked taking users to different threads. It has something to do with the incapatability between vb 3.7 and vbseo 3.0... looks like vbseo needs to be upgraded.

I was having a problem accessing the forum until I deleted the ngemu section from my hosts file. I had added the section the last time the forums went down as it was the only way to access the site.

My recent faceplam was having the old ngemu servers in my hosts file from when they last moved. School takes up a lot of time, so after returning to lurk I was worried to see Currently Active Users: 1 (1 members and 0 guests).

Yeah, due to not checking the forums because of my holiday I ended up in a ghost town when I came back. Next time put up a message for your old regulars, will you

Thankfully krissgjeng helped me out by pointing me to the correct file to edit.
