updates will be handled automatically by a.e.s... a.e.s will check for updates in my page and will prompt you to update.. the rest will be done automatically.

it will only download the updated files though

I already nominate this for emu innovation of the year. What a novel idea. If PCSX2 wins the "innovation" award again, I'll shoot myself. This is true innovation.

I've just tried A.E.S as well, but I found something that looks like a bug or something :

1. The splash screen, not in the center (when it starts), as showed in pict number 1.
2. Wave input device didn't open, what's that? (pict number 2).
3. The screen is not really in the center, I'm using 424 x 288 for the windowed resolutions (pict number 3).
4. Double screen, or there's a freezed screen? Take a look closer, and you'll know what I meant (pict number 4).
5. The keyboard didn't respond for ePSXe command altough I've set the keyboard for ePSXe gamepad.
6. When A.E.S was closed, the ePSXe still running, but no screen, and you can't switch to ePSXe by using Alt + Tab (you can't close ePSXe rather than using Task Manager). If you didn't "end task" the ePSXe, you still hear the sound of the game.

I'm using my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A135-S4467) to test A.E.S. This is the configurations :

Pete's Soft Driver 1.54
Window mode : 424 x 288
Color depth : 32 bit
stretching : 1:1
FPS limit : on
Use Frame skipping : on
Auto-detect FPS / Frame skipping limit
Scanline mode : disabled

ePSXe SPU Core 1.5.2
Enable Sound : on
Enable CDDA Sound : on
Enable XA Sound : on
Enable SPU IRQ hack : off

ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2
Enable subchannel read from cdrom : on
Enable subchannel caching to disk : off
Enable subchannel caching for LG : off

Core 2 Duo (Centrino Duo) 1.6GHz
1024MB DDR
Intel GMA 950 shared *sucks*
Realtek HD Audio
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit version.

Oh, I also want to suggest @ruantec-Man to add "close" button rather than just "double click" to close A.E.S.

yeah i know those drawing problems with Vista.... that´s why i need vista tester....
about epsxe i need to fix that too....
the error you got i´ve already a fix for it... the reason for that are the new vista drivers..

i´ll have to install vista aswell to fix all those problems... for now a.e.s will run perfectly with XP... i´ll work in a vista support later.

btw thanks for posting this information... it help me alot to fix those bugs

Oh, so that's because of Vista? Hmm, sound really interesting ^^.

And, 1 question ... how do I can update A.E.S? Does it automatically download the update, or I've to download it manually?

EDIT : I've add / edit the post before this, you may re-read it.

the version you have is a beta version(not for the public)...so it will not update.. you can get the updates from me

about a.e.s and Vista... Vista was causing me some troubles in the past... but i just installed XP since most of the people use XP and not Vista for now.. so am trying to make a.e.s fully compatible with XP and Vista is comming next.

as i sayd the error you got is because the sound drivers in Vista has changed and i have a fix but i´ll implemented later since i need vista installed in my machine in order to test it

the boarders i think are created because of aero or the new vista handle.

I agree with you Flare, I said to a friend of mine only a week ago that it would be awesome if it could be done. But I honestly thought it couldn't be. But there you go it being done right now and it is even better then what I imagined a week ago

P.S. We were changing between NullDC and Mame32b at the time

Thanks for the info. And about the "keyboard / gamepad not responding", it's after you're in the game. Actually when it plays in the first or in the main menu, you still can use the keyboard / gamepad, but when it comes to game, you have nothing to do else except to close the A.E.S. Yes, I willing to wait for the update (can't wait for that, actually ). Thanks @ruantec-Man.

Here I post some screen from The Legend of Dragoon, enjoy it.

so here´s an small update

i´ve added GENS support!!!! it was a bit tricky to make it work but at the end i got it!

i´ve made some fixes too.

- ePSXe close when a.e.s is closed(was a bug keeping epsxe running in the background)
- some events problems caused by bad redrawing methods.
- fixed many Gens issues i had
- implemented better "grab & render" method and speed.

enjoy the pictures
