Trying to make a web site.

I'm new at creating websites, so I thought that I could ask you guys some advices on how to get my page on the net. I'm using frontpage to make my page, mainly because I don't know html or any other programming language. Here are my first questions I hope you mind answering:
1- A free hosting site (no big space required)?
2- How do I upload my files to the site?
That's it. Any help or coment is appreciated. Thanks.

Well, there are TONS of free web hosters, each of them providing different features. You can go with the usuals (<a href="http://www.geocities.com">Geocities</a>, <a href="http://www.tripod.com">Tripod</a> [for some strange reason <a href="http://www.tripod.co.uk">Tripod UK</a>'s hosting is different from Tripod US]). You can also check out the ones mentioned here: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthre...threadid=20899
To upload it, you don't necesarilly need an FTP client. You can upload either through the web (the hoster should indicate where to do so) or via FTP with your browser (i.e. ftp://yourlogin:youpassword@ftp.yourhoster.com).

Well, the other alternative would be to buy your own domain and hoster, but that requires money. The only problem about Geocities are the ads... but that's what you get for a free service.

True, but I learnt HTML by reading the source code from the pages made by Word Perfect. Anyway, if you want a really basic guide to HTML, see this: www.lissaexplains.com

No way, you will get bored to hell with the fecking book. Its good to learn off a website so you can try the differnt parts and make a page etc, while your learning.

I highly recommend that you learn HTML.

I also recommend that you ditch Frontpage as well.

There is a lot of extra unnecessary code that is produced with Frontpage.

Quote:
1- A free hosting site (no big space required)?
For webhost go with Brinkster.com. They offer 30 MB of space and 15 MB bandwidth per day.

I don't recommend Geocities because you can easily hit the bandwidth limit.

Quote:
2- How do I upload my files to the site?
If you use Brinkster or Geocities, they have their own file manager. No FTP required.
