Paint shop is more used for drawings, it is like a better version of "paint", is very cool....Photoshop is a photo editor....U can add effects, modify, resize, resample the photo, but is more used with scanned photos or pics u got from the net....not for drawings if u know what i mean....both are very good....if u pretend to make a good web site full of things (like images) i'm sure sometime u'll have to use both of them....they are very useful....

the two arent even comparable...
PSP is good for one who wants a cheap solution PS is for more serious work, and has everything um want to for picture editing... >if u pretend to make a good web site full of things (like images) i'm sure sometime u'll have to use both of them.... not really, i (and better designers than me) use exclusively PS for all the stuff they need (cept vectorial drawing). PS - photoshop can also do all that PSP can...

Photo shop is very powerful and would be a necessity for any professional work. However, if you are as uneducated as i am, you will end up spending hours trying to do something "simple." Paint Shop Pro is a easy, quick and dirty solution that gets the job done if you dont know how to do anything or if you dont have anything complicated to do. if you do wish to create a logo however, i would not completely discount the use of MSpaint either.. ive seen some nice stuff done with that..

try using the effects u can put on the image, u just go to the effects menu, it have light effects, color, shades, 3D, distortion......If u r really up to try doing a cool logo, u should at least try this stuff in paintshop.....is very easy....

I'm a Paint Shop Pro fan, but indeed, Photoshop is a professional program, where PSP is pretty standard and basic, even though the latest version(s) have some nice new effects.
But, they're not really comparable. I think comparing Lview with PSP would be more appropriate ![]() ..but no doubt, photoshop is better. It's just that I've been using Paint Shop Pro since version 3.0 or so

When i was young and ignorant i uses PSP, but now everything is PS for me. PS is also suited for drawing, check my avatar, which is SERIOUSLY reduced in size from the original, and this one, sorry, i can't help myself posting it:eek:

i thought the right was bigger as the left.......
anyway the style i used is experimental in that picture...... so it's natural it's quite *****ed up.... my brother doesn't like it, a friend said:"She's got nice eyes, how do you do that?", i thought, hmm, i don't think you were watching the eyes ![]() ![]()

I would agree with the statement that PSP is good for something quick and simple. It loads faster than PS. Sometimes, when I'm working on web graphics, I'll find myself opening it and closing it constantly to tweak an image here and there.
However, if I'm doing something that needs to be more "professional" looking. PS has what it takes to get any job done. I'll actually do a bit of editing in both sometimes. Some features of PSP are just easier to use than PS's. The latest version of PSP is actually quite nice.... Oh and btw, it does have a lens flare
