A Coding Request....

I hope I'm allowed to post a request for anybody that is willing. I need a main page for my forum coded in PHP/MySQL.

I need it to pull announcements and news from my forum, and allow me to login to my forum via the main page, access the admin and User control panels panel as well as allow the forum to integrate seamlessly with the main page.

I need MySQL because I was going to have a database of cheats, tutorials, and news archives.

I need an affiliates section for my website too. I'm looking for a main page with a decent eyecandyish theme so if any pre-existing templates exist for free use that would be even better.

I would do this myself if I knew how to do what I am explaining, which is why I made the request for anyone willing to help.

I don't want to use an existing software package such as MK Portal since Plot's website is using it and I want my website to be unique.

I didn't want to seem selfish, so I wanted to offer a contribution to anyone willing to do it. I would do it myself if I knew how to code and had the time. I'm basically "dumb" when it comes to anything remotely coding related and I have a much more tough time than others grasping the concept.

well i would just use existing software.

the rule of coding my programming professor taught me is "don't reinvent the wheel"
meaning, don't code something thats already been done when you can just re-use existing code.

i don't really like that saying, as re-coding things is a good learning experience.
but in your case, i think you should just use existing software.

most-likely, there would be ways to customize the forum so it would look more original.
i would offer to help out, but i have very-little experience with webdevelopment... i've only made a few simple webpages back in highschool

MyBB. The custom thing is being phased out, as portal softs offer a pretty convenient advantage for intermediate users, not to mention customisability. That will likely wait till we move to another host.
