i'm getting bad grades in my math courses at my university, but on my programming and computer courses i keep getting A's...
i think for programming, you just have to be able to think logically... and just break down what you want to do in steps.

@cotton, algebra or geom/trig/calculus? I hate algebra but love math related to graphics.

well the main class thats killing me is Discrete Mathematics.
they basically just made up that course... And its mandatory for Computer Science majors. not sure if you've taken it, but its basically Proving logical statements using other accepted proofs... i'm actually re-taking the class cuz i failed the first time i took it ![]() i didn't even bother going to the final cuz i knew i'd just fail it... but college Algebra & Trig are also pretty hard. but I'm at least able to pass those... the Math teachers at my university, say that the average person takes a math class 3 times before they pass! :/ in highschool I always got A's in my math classes, but college is a different story. i used to think i was really good at math, but since i went to college I noticed how little i knew.. and i havn't taken Calculus yet, but i'm expecting its going to be pretty hard since everything else has been hard. But i don't think math classes can get much harder than Discrete Math.. that class is about 3 times harder than Trigonometry, and 4 times harder than College Algebra.

Same here! even though im good at algebra, (and mostly all types of math), geometry is always one of my favorites

i believe you have to use VS 2008 if you want to compile the SSSE3 build since VS 2005 dosn't support SSSE3.
well at least, thats what i've heard...

1 - The trial sucks. Noone really needs the extra debugging functions.
2 - VS Express can too 3 - students can use the pro version for FREE, if they qualify for the Microsoft's DreamSpark programme https://downloads.channel8.msdn.com/

MFC isn't included with the express editions.
so alot of sourcecode that uses those libraries don't compile. Its microsoft's way to make people buy the professional editions...

i'm pretty sure its my discrete math teacher thats horrible. i'm taking and advanced Programming class now and the teacher is really great and i'm actually learning. my Discrete math teacher on the other hand confused me cuz she couldn't explain things correctly. i'm actually suppost to pass Discrete Math b4 i take the programming class i'm taking, so theoretically DM should be easier... but its not.

Well MOST math teachers speak that way. only in rare cases do they convey the data correctly....and easily.
And what is Calc 3???
