Sound problems with Game Boy roms

Hello Internet.

I use VBA every so often, but I have a problem with using Game Boy games. About every 30-60 seconds or so, the sound goes pretty ape-****. Crackling, warped and so on. It only lasts for about 10 seconds, but it's pretty regular.

Any ideas what's causing it?

this happend to me.. i turned off directn sound b and turned low poass filter on and it was fine after that not sure if this is just me tho so try it
