Pokemon Fire Red, different from the rest

This is an odd situation, i can save my game and when i reset the visual boy advance 1.6 my save game is still there.

But when i open my visual boy advance the next day, my game has dissappeared, it seems it has been deleted.

I use save type automatic, flash 128K
But while reading another forum i was adviced to delete my battery file, so i did
(to do away with the message the 1mb-board...)
