Pokemon Emerald Big Problem

I played the game through, but when I got to the end when you beat the game and it goes through the credits and starts the game over again with the opening it says my save file was erased due to corruption or damage. I saved right before and I can still load that but I was wondering if there was any way I could continue playing the game after beating it. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it. Thanks.
