pkmn firered save help.

whenever i use vba 1.8.0 beta 3 and play pokemon firered it saves normally but the emulator doesn't have link abilities now i've got vbalink 1.8.0 beta0 but it doesn't save i used game overides and made the save type flash and size 1024k but to no avail also when i star it it say 1mb circuit board not installed but in the vba 1.8.0 beta3 it doesnt say that. oh and i also use auto ips patching. i want to save normally so i can trade in the pokecenter cause thats the only way.
