Exclamation make VBA faster

This isn't a really problem but...

would you tell me tips to speed-up VBA whitout using frame skip?

because, when in a game something fires a beam, i can't see it (the beam, obviusly) losing many lives

if anyone knows about plugins, tips or a best configuration in video modes, please, tell me

PD1: i have an old pc (pentium III 500 mhz, 128 Ram, 32MB video card, 80 Gb Hard Disk) and i don't have any way to upgrade it until 2007.
Go Figure

PD: Forgive my english. i'm from Argentina

Try switching your desktop resolution to 16 bit. It may speed up the performance of VBA.

Maybe using the normal filter method rather than Sai2x or other types will improve your speed. Of course, less programs you have running the better performance...

some people say that Render method to GDI should be faster than DirectSomething. I don't know if it's true, but maybe with old graphics cards..

you might also consider getting an older version of VBA, the 1.8 beta has a noticeable speed drop in comparison with say 1.6a and you'll get almost every game running in it

I never noticed the speed drop. That's probably because Emerald runs at 500+%.

Not much I can do besides

1. Do you have the Latest and Greatest Version of VBA?
2. Google some computer Efficiency so you can have more processing power to put forth into VBA
3. Scan everyday.

Well, I did. When you run four VBAs at once, the difference becomes quite visible

1) Disable all filters such as 2xsai or eagle, just use normal.
2) GDI vs direct~whatever makes little if any difference.
3) You can set the speed up option to stay on without you having to hold the key the whole time (although the thing toggles itself back off every time you close VBA).
4) You can get a little more speed by turning off sound (not just mute, but disable).

I've run VBA on a 500mhz, 64ram system before. You'll be able to get most games to run at around 100% (generally ranging from 90% to 110%, depending on the game), but a lot of games require too much processing power and won't go over 60% or so. There's really nothing else you can do except upgrade your system.

Regarding GDI vs Direct3D:
My laptop has onboard graphics. GDI works there much faster than Direct3D, however, if I compare the speeds for my desktop PC (Radeon 9000 AGP4x), Direct3D works faster.

So I would say it depends on your computer's 3D performance.
