How do you link at all?

Between yourself, (on one computer)?

Between others, (different computers)?

Linking different games, like pokemon?

I tried linking, (Link is not connected correctly)?

Anyone help?

Linking On One Computer
first, use the NEWEST verson of VBA Link that is NOT found on the official site. This version will recognize the .sg1 and .sg2 files correctly.

http://www.ngemu.com/gba/vba.php?act...req=emu&id=396

Now, open your game and save 2 time. Call one SAVE.sg1 and the other SAVE.sg2 (You don't have to call it "SAVE" but whatever is easiest).

Now, close everything out, just to be organized, open the VBA LINK Emmulator 2 times so that you have 2 windows popped up. In one, open the ROM and load the SAVE.sg1 file. In the second window do the same thing but load the SAVE.sg2 file.

Now, you MAY want to change the default joypad on one of these screens so that you can use 2 different sets of buttons, otherwise when you press buttons it will effect both games at the same time.

You can now link, just choose the link option with each game, try to do it at the exact same time -I know, in games like FF Tactics at least, that if you choose to link with one and then stall with the other you'll just freeze your game.

When you do the transfer or battle or whatever you're linking is, one of the games (or both but I'v enever had that happen) May freeze for a while. If it's the game you did something good for, close the otehr window and it will unfreeze. If the window doesn't matter or if they are both important then just leave it there for a little while and it WILL unfreeze.

lan
Okay, you can go to the official site for details but basically you have to select the option in the "link" command and then type in their IP address. I wouldn't really use this because it's a lot slower then a real link (miles of cord and hundreds of routers as apposed to one little 2 foot cord).

Two Games
I don't have 2 different games at the moment, I accidentaly deleted all of my roms (SOOO pissed because I almost finished Chain Of Memories). But since you CAN technically link with Fire Red and Leaf Green just follow the dame steps and then in leaf green save a "SAVE.sg1" and in Fire Red save a "SAVE.sg2". It works teh same way you'r ejust opening different ROMs.

Question Wow thanks,

quite informative. I also heard there is linking on a SERVER? Up to 4 players? Is this correct, I think I downloaded it but I am not sure how to work it. A command prompt window is brought up, but either no one is online, or i am doing something incorrectly, or I am just stupid. Does anyone know how they work?

No you're just talking about the LAN connection. One person is acting as a server.
