Question Frustrated...

Hello Everyone,
My first post here.

First let me say a few things. I played/used roms before on the VBA a while ago, but deleted it because I lost interest. I have now downloaded the new version, along with pkmn fire red. I downloaded this with the thought in my mind that I could use cheats to get the newer pokemon. I got it to work in the past with previous versions, but I am so lost, I dont know what to do. I have done a search of these forums, and have not been able to find/understand the answer I am looking for. So, I have two questions. If anyone takes the time to reply, it will be muchly appreciated.
P.S., I have read the sticky at the top of the page.

1.) I get the "Save error. Please exchange the backup memory." message when saving in-game. I have put my settings to "flash" and "flash 128k", as ive read in other posts. I have also downloaded the file from the sticky and placed it in both the game folder and vba folder. Still no luck. Any idea on what I need to do here?

2.)From the codes that I have found for this game on the internet, I am not quite sure how to apply them in-game.

So, lets say I wanted to catch a bulbasaur. I replace the XXXX with 0001, but I am then given this long list of codes:

7400013000BF
83000EA80000
7400013000BF
83000EB00200
7400013000BF
83000EB20001
7400013000BF
83000EB4D405
7400013000BF
83000EB60809
7400013000BF
83000EB89C75
7400013000BF
83000EBA0816

And some type of "code trigger" which looks like this:

74000130 02BD

And then a "Pokemon Modifier" Which looks like this:

820265AC xxxx

I know about replacing the x's, but I am completely lost at what to do with the other codes. Do I paste in that huge list of codes? Im lost.

Any and all help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrew

from what i've understood you have obtained your roms illegaly - by downloading them, what means - we're not allowed to discuss about it...

right, emuforums does not support piracy. GBA games are easy to dump too, just grab yourself a flashcart and you're on your way
