Is there any updated vba-over.ini release? Who do these?

I did the version in this thread. You can find other versions on the net with the other country versions of the games listed in the vba-over.ini as the games in this one are just the (U) versions. I havn't heard of any other games recenly that need per game settings since the last update of the vba-over.ini.

Okay, I copied this file to my VBA folder and everything.

However, when I tried to run Classic NES - Super Mario Bros. (or hell, any ROM), my controls almost entirely stopped functioning (the best I can do is make my character flinch).

Anyone know what's going on?

That's their copy protection. What version of VBA are you using? Those games had 3 or 4 different copy protection schemes and one of them would trigger slow controls.

I've got the latest iteration (listed as 1.8.0 final in the About menu).

What's weird is I've been seeing people recommending this thing all over the place as a fix but this never seems to come up.

1.8.0 beta 3 was the latest version. Get that here:

No, I'm pretty sure I have one that's listed as 1.8.0 final...

EDIT: Here's the emulator that I have and the DLL file necessary to run it. In case you wanted to look at what I have (just dump the DLL file into the same folder as the emulator).

You're not using an official build so I don't know what to suggest to you. It maybe that the version that you're using has a problem handling that particular game. All that I know is that it works with the official VBA. I personally tested the games myself in the official VBA and they all work fine for me. Try and use the 1.8.0 beta 3 that I posted in the other post.

Sonic_TH, get the one from [Download] Current build on page one. Don't get the wip though because alot of the games graphics is screwup.

Btw: Where did you get that the one that you post at?

I wish I knew.

It was from around here (NGEmu), that's all I remember.

EDIT: Wait a second, the one listed in the Current Build topic IS this emulator. Its 1.8.0 Final.

Good too see that someone knows how to use it.

Here is my post explaining how to use an ips patch. I might edit it in the first post of this thread.

Um wow...sorry to bump but I am having a problem with this. Im pretty sure I did exactly what I was supposed to do. I downloaded the attached file and then extracted it to the folder which my visualboyadvance.exe was located. After that, I tried to run the Pokemon Fire Red rom, the Squirrels version and it still said the 1m circuit board error. I checked in the config file to make sure that the code was set up for that rom...and indeed it was. I even went ahead and did it manually, enabling Real Time Clock, Making it EEPROM and Flash 128k but to still have it come up with the error. Im using the latest version of VBA too. I had this working with the settings like this before but for some reason now it doesnt want to work. >_> Any suggestions?

EDIT: Nevermind. I deleted the old config file I had which was being used for the last version of VBA. After deleting that and using the default settings it seems to work now.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I updated the vba-over.ini for those who are still using the VBA. I also added support for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team. Also, the names used to describe the roms are based on No-Intro dat.

As usual, place it in the same directory as the VBA. Let me know if a game still isn't working or if I made a mistake with anything (everything should be in working order though).
