In the 'Add' button group, click on the GameShark button instead. 'Code' and 'Gameshark' buttons are 2 different things

BF3C8707DA2E

it has 12 chars per line..

but VBA wants XXXXXXXXYYYYYYYY 16 chars per line for the correct format.. hmm?

Versions prior to 1.7 didn't support the new GS code format. You could however enter them in older versions of VBA as codebreaker codes (you may have to put a space between the 8th and 9th characters to make them work).

It gets a bit complicated with the code type switching and AR V3 - if you want to, you can post the codes you want converted in that thread and someone will do it for you (provided there aren't too many).
