Question VBA Problems

Before I go into the problem, let me start with the specs of my computer.

1.4 GHz Celeron processor
16MB video card
256 MB RAM
40 GB hard drive
1024 x 768 Resolution, 24 Bit High color quality

Okay, with those small specs out of the way, let me explain what my problem is:

I have used VBA for a -long- time on this computer, and it has worked great. However, lately, it's been ... less than standard. I used to be able to maximize the screen, or select full screen to play the games, and it would work great. There would be no speed decrease, and it made it easier to see the screen. But now, if I try to even increase the screen size to 2x, it slows down from 100% to 19%. And when I try it in full screen, the speed is great, but all I see is a black screen.

I'm hoping you can understand what I'm saying and help me out with the best configuration possible for my computer. I really enjoy playing it full screen; it helps my eyes. Thank you in advance for any answers you have.

I'm using VBA 1.7.2. The configuration is standard configuration that it starts with when you first run the program, minus the addition of the joypad.

By the way, I'm running Windows XP.

Thanks for any help you can give.

No problem with your Vba version & system 'cos My PC conditions are same with you and I can Link 4 Vba without problem & lag maybe you should check for some spyware/virus in ur pc or try to close anti-virus or anti-spyware products to boost speed (But I don't close thoose to run 4 Vba... I guess there's another main reason)

The problem I am having is that if the screensaver is enabled, the screen turns black and only sound is working.
Is there a way to bypass the screensaver issue.
I don't want everytime i start playing, I have to disable the screensaver.

VBA is supposed to disable the screen saver, but I guess Microsoft never really makes things easy...
