Why can't I save with VGB 1.3.1?

I'm playing tactics Orge- the knights of lodies right now, and I can't seem to save when I load from my savestate, but I could save when I start a new game, it gives me a fail to save data thing.

Could it be because I started the game when I removed the mode7 intro and when I found out that I couldn't save, did a savestate, downloaded a new rom this time keeping the intro, but still unable to save when I load the savestate but able to save now if I start up a new game?

I have the settings on automatic and 64k, but also tried automatic 128k.

Can someone help me out here and explain to me what I'm doing wrong and why I can't save. I didn't even remove the mode 7 intro from it, I left it the way that it is when I downloaded it.

dont save as a savestat. save in the game.

Saving in the game is a more reliable means of saving.

Hmm.. weird i use savestates for Tactics Ogre The Knight Of Lodis fine on 1.2, i might just stay with 1.2 for now

Oh, I just found out that I could restart a new game and save fine, weird. But I'm at the last battle and no way am I restarting just to save.
