Diagonal control not working in VBA

As the subject says, I'm using a Gravis Xterminator gamepad in Windows XP Home (w/ SP1), and I can only control games horizontally and vertically. If any of you have played either Fire Pro Wrestling games, you'll knowthat diagonal control is pretty damn important, especially if you get knocked out of the ring. BoyCott Advance works okay, but the game doesn't work right on that emu - no ref. Argh.

Any suggestions?

Sorry to bump old threads but I'm having the same problem too.

I have the d-pad controls configured the arrow keys on my keyboard however I cannot move diagonally when pressing, for example, down and left. I had a similar problem when using Snes9x though that emulator allowed me to configure separate keys for diagonal directions. Is something like this possible in VBA?

I'm using version 1.80 and playing Final Fantasy VI.

Also, in searching the internet I found that Boycott Advance may allow me to use diagonals, is there any way to convert VBA save-games to Boycott save-games?

Thanks!
