Code hacking?

Can the Action Replay or Gameshark ROM files actually be used for hacking codes? I start them up and they seem to just freeze on the opening screen. The built-in hacker of VBA is good, but I am looking for some other alternatives. Anyone have any ideas?

no, it can't be used, cuz there is no way to load the games onces the code breaker and gameshark is loaded. also, you can't hack codes anyway outside your pc. you have to rely on vba search function.
