screen capture files
when visual boy advance saves the screen image file it saves it as some *.png file that only my image preview program on my computer can open. Is there another program or a way to edit these image files or convert them to *.jpg, *.bmp or *.gif files?

Photoshop should be able to open those files, as well as the majority of image editing programs. I use ACDSee to convert images.

Macromedia Fireworks is great for converting PNG and other picture files. I use it all the time.
