What is the SDL version of VBA?

Theres a windows version, and there is a SDL version.
What exactly is SDL?
and what is the difference?

An answer would be appreciated, thanks.

"Simple DirectMedia Layer is a cross-platform multimedia library designed to provide fast access to the graphics framebuffer and audio device."
Something like DirectX but open source (and faster for me).

It is command line driven so you would have to detail all the switches and such for that. The readme should tell you what does what. I don't know if there has been any frontends developed specifically for this yet.

it doesn't run so good on my pc like the old one better that doesn't hack and there's sound
