VBA Link troubles.
Alright, I have a version of Pokemon - Fire Red and I want to trade my pokemon across the same version so they can evolve.
So, I got VBA link and followed the instructions posted here. I copied my .sav and changed it to .sa1 and .sa2, but, the '1MB circuit board' error comes up. I've experienced this problem before, but, it's usually fixed by my deleteing the .sav and re-saving it from my save state. After that, it works fine everytime I reset the game. When I try to load my game though, it automatically starts me over and it's getting rather annoying. Does anyone have any fixes for this? Maybe I need a new version of Fire Red? Thanks. EDIT: I'm using VBA 1.8.0.6*** and VBA Link v1.72 |

Remember to turn on real time clock and set save type to flash 128k. Try googling "1MB circuit board". I'm sure I have gone across a solution to this problem before.

The solution is to configure both windows save type to Flash 128k or using the vba-over.ini file. |

I do have the vba-over.ini file, but, maybe I'm doing something wrong with it? I just put it into the same directory that my VBA emulator is in, right, and then it'll work it's magic?
If so, that's what I've done and I've made sure the save type is Automatic with Flash 128K and deleted my old save, loaded my save state and watched it save correctly. Then I exit the emulator and it brings up the "1MB circuit board" error again, but, if I reset after saving, it'll just say the save files corrupt, but, it'll load where I saved it. EDIT: I haven't gotten to two windows yet, since, I can't even get one window to load the save file correctly, so, I'm currently stuck on trying to get the VBA Link (1.7.2) to load my VBA (1.8.0.6***) .sav file from Fire Red. I've made sure the save type was 128K Flash too, several times. |
