Anything that's possible with one version of VBA is possible with any version. The question is whether or not it's worth the effort. 1) How many people still play GB mono games? 2) How many of those people play them on VBA vs a dedicated GB/C emulator? 3) Do you (as the player) really want to spend the time it would take to pick colors for every single sprite in the game? You'd probably spend more time picking colors than you would playing the game itself. Another option would be something like the way BGB does it. There are at least 4 different elements in a gameboy mono game that can be colored independantly. BGB lables them as "WIN", "BG", OBP0", and "OBP1". This allows for up to 4 different sets of colors to be used in a GBmono game at one time. |

per object? aint worth the extra trouble. preparing patches for them might be a more optimal expense of effort, but i dont see this coming any soon (not very interesting to do so after all. anything but the original BW greenish monochrome tones is already pretty good). so yeah, separate colors for monochrome (1 color) games probably aint cutting it (agrees with cypherswipe)

Rom hacking can be done to insert colours. unfortunately changes to the GBC palette have caused issues with these types of hacks

i it a great option
hello,i have read it and seing the video and the website. It is increible. I know it is a lot of job doing it individuality on gb games, but the result is worth (in my view). And if more and more emulator implement and use the same color files ,it will be less problematic for gamers In LJX (a new version of LJP ,multi-emulator for palmos) maybe also implement it. And it is open source ,it would not difficult add his files to VBA-M ,no? |

I don't think it's a bad idea, but it's one of those possible things that could be added to the ""To Do" list once the major stuff is finished. But I don't think it's a priority right now. If it's made so that users can export their palletes file, that would make it easier to colorize a large array of games since users can upload them themselves.
