Hey all. Does anyone know the real difference between Adobe ImageReady and Photoshop? I'm just asking because I'd like to make some game graphics/art/textures with it. Thanks.

There aren't any huge differences. Imageready is just more web graphics oriented.
Btw here is the wiki. Adobe ImageReady - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

no longer. imageready has been discontinued actually, and replaced by Fireworks (with many/most of its features integrated into that), starting from the CS3 bundle

Well, all I care about is making textures with it. I'll grab a copy of photoshop when I'm ready, but damn... I need it :/

Well, if that's what your goal is, then Photoshop CS3 is what you need. It allows you to open up 3D models in it and test out your textures on the 3D models in CS3.

zBrush...now thats a godlike program, paint textures directly onto the models surface, ur use extremely high poly geometry to generate normal maps etc for low poly versions.

Yep, in CS3 Extended you can edit textures for 3D models. Though, before I actually tried it out myself, I thought that you could paint the textures directly on the models, but I found out that you can't when I tried it myself. You have to work on the texture image itself and then save the file for it to update on the model in CS3. There's a few formats that it supports, though I forget which ones exactly off the top of my head. IIRC, you can import and export the textures/models. I haven't used that feature since I first tried it though since I'm not good in all of that 3D stuff. Though I wish to learn it one day. When I do though, I want to try out that zBrush program that CK mentioned. That's what I need when I work on textures.
