Ogg to mp3
I'm using besweet/belight, and everytime i try to convert a ogg file to mp3, the program crashes. So i'm looking for something else, freeware of course.
Thanks

HydrogenAudio and Doom9 look credible
![]() in all justice: OGG: marginally better, more noticeably in q-based modes. less widespread hardware/software support => smaller adoption MP3: works so no reason to change as long as noone uses the ISO implementations ![]() SUPER is just a dumbified frontend for other encoders. If besweet/belight fail, just redownload the latest betas for each of them in the same folder (again) and retry. GX Transcoder is nice too, as well as MediaCoder (latter is my personal preference after Besweet/BeLight, other than that, manual stuff and total conversion control ftw )

o well SUPER still is pretty super, I have not come across better freeware than it when it comes to just plain encoding into another format without any whistles and bells.
There are better ones, but they are all specific, ther are none which are as universal as it is.

They say that it gives better quality at the same bitrate. Then again, who here would encode their music at bitrates where they'd hear the difference between MP3/OGG and CD Audio? So compatibility is my main reason for sticking with MP3
