Bug in notepad?

Make a new text document, enter on the first line "£266" (without quote marks...), save and close the document. When you re-open the document it's contents will have changed to "㊣㘶".

Works with various numbers, but won't work if there's anything prior to the pound sign. Only works with numbers as well, eg; "£the" will still when re-openned be "£the"!

WTF....

. Tried this on various XP based machines in the house, and it always works!

Seems like a Unicode issue, results in a unreadable character for me...and running XP

It works similarly if you write "bush hid the facts".

This program was partially made by Michael Moore.

EDIT: it also deosnt seem to work under Vista.

Meh, I was starting to believe it was a devilish thing. Save as Unicode and it opens ok...

LoL did anyone of you noticed that when you maximize the window of paint and wordpad and then close it and again open it,window is maximized.But in the notepad when you maximize the window and close it and again open it,window is NOT maximized.LoL...changes for the window state are not saved.If you resize it then it will BE saved,but not for the maximized window state

I always notice another bug in Notepad. When you have a lot of text that isn't broken up with lines, some words/lines of text go missing (on a wordwrapped document). Sometimes highlighting fixes that problem. I don't know why that happens though. :/

there´s a bug in excel(office 2007) aswell...

type in a cell this: =77,1*850 excel will give you as a result 100000

it´s a micro$oft product... bugs are always present
