DirectX10 for XP

I am sure some heard about this already but do people see a difference?
I see some tech sites that say you can install direct 10 on windows XP. I am curious to know if anyone tried it and if they see a performance difference using a directx 9 graphics card which I assume no difference.

Download DirectX 10 for Windows XP

Download DirectX 10 for Windows XP from Alky Project

Anyway If you prefer updated to directx9 here is a site to get them.
Download DirectX 9.0c (Nov 07) - filehippo.com

Alpha, unofficial versions of DirectX10, possibly with massive reliability issues???
For some reason, I think I'll pass

Wow I'm suprise there was progress made.
Being 6 months since the last homepage update or developement status update I was beginning to think this was one big donation collection scam.

It'll be interesting to see what this project can accomplish given another 3.5 years when it finally delivers its first official non-beta release.
/I'm partially serious

After realing these articles my BS monitor is going off, I can't pinpoint why, maybe its the idea putting a couple .dlls in your system32 directory is going to give you dx10.....
or the actually alky project and falling leaf sites make no mention of this alpha test release and you can only download it off some unconnected site.....

it does so using OpenGL,

OpenGL 2.0 supports most of the effects that Dx10 do except for Geometry... which OpenGL 3.0 will seek to address
