shockwave crashing my browser

i just updated my flash player browser plugin earlier today to version 9.0.115 and since then ive had 3 browser crashes that have the plugin listed as the cause in the tech reports. and on top of that, my pc has had total lockups twice forcing me to manually restart (i dont know for sure if thats related but up until today i have not had this or any other type of crash happen before so im suspecting shockwave doing this somehow as well). how do you remove or revert back to an earlier version? i dont really feel like reading a whole bunch of stuff that would possibly give me an explanation on why its crashing since i dont really care right now, i just want to go back to what i had before because its beginning to annoy me.

internet explorer?
go in its "properties", then "Programs", then "Manage Addons", you can choose to either update it or disable it

try a system cleanup session, couldve been some nasties

Yeah jonc, IE does that a lot. I mean a lot, with various add-ons, especially with the flash add-on. Well, that's from my experience. Just disable the flash add-on like HCR said and enable it when you need it.

no prob, spammer
if i remember correctly, it can be uninstalled in the regular xp instal/uninstall panel, in case you want to reinstall another version (not sure if it can be downgraded safely without requiring an uninstallation first)
