ive read many great things about metal gear solid
and i have decided that this is going to be my next game

the question i have is if the game is better for the playstation or the computer (im not talking about graphics since in epsxe, it looks great)

how does the game play differ or the feel of it

i have an athlon 1.2 GHz w/ 512 MB ram
and a 32 MB agp ATI rage

I think your better off with a PSX controller. However I did find the game very enjoyable on PC with a Gravis Game Pad Pro. It would be best if you could play the PC version with a real PSX controller if you have one of those USB conveters that let's you use a PSX controller like a regular PC controller.

BTW, now is a good time to play that game before the sequel on PS2. I played the demo of it today and was very impressed.

well i know its gonna be quite a while before i get a ps2
so, im gonna have to settle for ps games and comp games

any ways, my controller is the gravis eliminator after shock
which has dual analog, a d-pad, 4 buttons, and 4 shoulder buttons, and a start and select button

the only two buttons that are missing are the ones underneath the sticks

what 2 buttons under the sticks? I've never seen a PSX controller with a button under each analog stick.

Anyway, it sounds like your Eliminator would make a good MGS controller so go for the PC version. BTW the PC version can only go up to 1024x768, but I don't think epsxe at 1600x1200 will really look that much better.
Just thought of another reason to go with PC. It comes with the VR missions game which is sold seperately on PSX.

Have fun with what I say is the best PSX game. If you get stuck in the game or even if you just want to know how to beat a certain enemy without losing most of your life then I'm the person to ask.(I've played that game so much I can practically beat it on extreme with my eyes closed.)

they are called L3 and R3. if you actually press the sticks down, not the direction down but into the controller, there are buttons there.

i dont know if any ps games use this but my freind has armored core 2 for ps2 and it uses one of them for booster rockets
