I'm a sucker for any hotfixes for Vista, I'm just too curious. I don't have any of the games they tested, and I wasn't having any stability problems before, but reducing memory usage is never a bad thing. x64 patch installed!

so you even know what this patch does (did you read the anandtech review) it stops the games from eating all ram up DX9 and WDDM eat ram with out it (2gb Per app you know for most 32 bit programs) so does not matter if you got 3-4gb of ram most programs will crash at 2gb link time, this patch is relateing to vista 32 and vista 64 Welcome to AnandTech.com [ Article: A Messy Transition: Practical Problems With 32bit Addressing In Windows] Welcome to AnandTech.com [ Article: A Messy Transition (Part 2): Windows XP, Vista, and the 2GB Barrier] Welcome to AnandTech.com [ Article: A Messy Transition (Part 3): Vista Buys Some Time] << this one is about the patch other ones are related to it (part one and two good read) this game as far as i know is the only know game i know of that hits the limit is Supreme Commander (goto page 13 and some one posted an Pic of SupremeCommander useing 2.9gb in task manager but its very nasty settings) GPGnet :: View topic - Crashing with large maps, several skirmish AI (FIX) ------ edit ---------- cool this web site looked at the web site header and dsplayed it
