Legacy Gameports in Vista. ;)

As most know, legacy gameport support was taken out of Vista. Well, it looks like someone found a way to for the new OS to install and support it for creative gameports. Seems to also work for my standard gameport on my motherboard as well. It only works in Vista 32bit it seems.

Gameport support pack for Vista 32-bit (x86), updated on June 15 - All native XP devices supported! - Windows Vista - Creative Labs

This was probably the last reason I was dual booting with WinXP. I want to keep using my MS Sidewinder Gameport to play 2d Fighters in Mame and other emulators. Now with it working in Vista, I'm more than likely going to be dual boot Vista/Linux.

Hum that is good news, i was kinda bummed that my wheel didn't work on Vista. Maybe it will work better then it does on XP ^^ All my games have framerate problems on XP when i enable force feedback. Gotta try this out.

I have a usb adapter that came with one of my joypads a while ago. I tried it on my old wingman extreme digital joystick and it refused to work on xp.

It is nice to see support for them, but I am happy with my wireless adapter and the x360 gamepad.

Or you could dual boot Mac OSX and Vista, like me.

Seriously, though. This is good news. I ended up just disabling the gameport in my BIOS because I got sick of Vista asking me to install drivers for the "unknown device." Plus, I like my device manager to be clean.
