Good Benchmark app.

Some of my friends are saying that super pi is really biased towards intel, so I want to show them the true power of my core duo.

Recommend me a good cpu benchmark app.

Thanks in advance.

Whoops just saw I'm in the wrong section.

Mods move it please.

I use CPU Mark and Fear to Benchmark and AquaMark sometimes. They are all free except F.E.A.R.

Does your friends have any proof to back up that claim? Just accept the fact that Intel Core 2 is much faster than Amd processor...

Overclocked, yes. But both at stock, they're pretty much equal. And I might be wrong here, but I thought Super PI was only optimized for single core use, not dual/quad core.

Try X6800 . It's stock meaning no overclock.

Actually, ure friend is right. Superpi doesn't like AMD for some reason. Mostly, Intel CPUs (even the P4) do extremely well for some reason. And AMD isn't too much worse than intel.

There's no AMD home-oriented processor in that pricerange either. AMD's processors up to the X2 6000+ offer impressive performance at stock speed when compared to their intel counterparts in the same priceclass. Can't blame them for not having an answer to the X6800 using old technology, CAN blame them for being late though

agree'd, PCSX2 is geared for all processors, it sucked on P4's and ruled on AMD's, but just like everything, the core2 came along and crushed everything out there.

but i wouldnt say SuperPI was bias'd to intel, considering a P4 did 1M in 45 seconds, where my AMD at the same speed did it in 32 ;p

all i can say is your friends are either retards, or complete AMD fanboys looking for an excuse.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes they are AMD fanboys. They think that with an Atlhon x2 4200+, they can get near my core duo at 3.06ghz.

Not a hope in hell, lol PCSX2 proves this time and time again, yet alone games like Oblivion etc. I love AMD, but you've got to admit they've not only f**ked up with their GPU, they're being slaughtered in the CPU market atm...oh well I'm sure AMD can come back with something.

AMD is usually later then Intel, and then pwnz it a bit again, it's been like that in the past, and hopefully will be like that again in the near future, same for ATi.

ATi's 9x00 series had a significant advantage over nVidia in several departments. The 1xk series arrived later than the 7x series, but imho they pwnd nVidia by offering way better image quality and more features

AMD had intel by the balls with the Athlon XP and Athlon 64, and the later Athlon X2. The only part where Intel shone during those days was marketing really.
