Slightly pixelated video decoding

Since my fresh install of windows a couple of weeks ago, i have noticed that my videos in XViD/DiVX/OGM etc. are slightly pixelated. i'm thinking it's a software thing because it was fine on my old install.

Before I was using CCCP codec pack, and I am again.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I kind of have the same problem you have. I tried ripping a dvd into mp4 but when it was done all of the animations were sketchy and had black lines on the screen every time something moved.

Then, do you enable some sort of texture sharpening in your Nvidia Display Properties? In my case, I use mplayer with opengl extension to get rid of the problem, if I use directx acceleration, it is blocky for me. For VLC, I suggest you to change the renderer.
