Maybe that's a good app, but I always try to stay away from apps with generic names.

The latest version of google toolbar is awesome. The basic use of Google Toolbar (latest version) allows suggested hits. for example, say you wanted to do a search for something like "internet forum". If you type at a rate of about 2 letters per second (slowly) you'll see suggested popular hits. Like hit the letter 'i' and it comes up with the most popular searches that begin with letter i. type in the next letter so you now have "in" - it first tells you how many centimeters (see pic) and then gives you the best/most popular serach queries starting with the letters "in". It continues along from there.

Another thing is that your own search history takes priority. For example, something like "injuries" isn't among the most popular search queries that start with "in", but if you have searched for "injuries" before, then that will take presedence. Frickin awesome program.

TCP Optimizer

another excellent program is TCP Optimizer. This program basically takes the default values Windows has put in place for things such as receive buffer size, and puts them to optimal values.

My internet speed increased from 2000 to 4800 kbps just by using this application, and setting it to Optimal settings. Seriously do a speed test before and after, you might find it to be quite nice.

I once saw foobar but it was ugly. Don't remember if you could download skins.
foobar doesn't work under a skin system, but under a interface script system. It is a little complicated, but for advanced users it is the most customizable audio player you can get. Really, watching at what the people at the foobar interface thread have achived, foobar can become the best audio utility in the world if you invest sufficient time into it

Yes, I know it's old but since this thread is still active...

Yes, anyone who doesn't believe it should check out the threads at HydrogenAudio, some of the Foobar skins are insane!

And I'll add it to the list...it's definitely a worthwhile addition.
