Using HandyCam as Webcam

I am Looking for a free tool that allows me to use my digital handycam connected through firewire card as webcam in applications like yahoo messenger...

I found trial versions of Webcamdv and dvdriver but both of them arent freeware...

Any such free tools available ?

i dont know about firewire but there are usb ports available here in Hyderabad' thru which one can use a handy cam as a webcam,i havent triedd them personally but i think they dont any drivers to work tho

Do you really need drivers? I had my cybershot plugged via composite to my tv tuner card and it was detected automatically by every app i threw at it.

i use a program called splitcam, try looking for it off of download.com
