firewall and wireless assistant help

i tried doing a system restore to undo the uninstallment of my VDMsound program but for some reason im getting some strange error messages that are confusing me. im being told by windows security center that i dont have a firewall active, however, my firewall is working and it says itself its running. i tried uninstalling and re-installing it but i keep getting the firewall disabled message.

another thing is, im now getting an error message saying that my hp wireless assistant is not supported by this machine, that makes no sense to me because it has been working fine up to now, in fact, it still works, i can still get on the internet and it is showing that it has a signal. what is doing this? even though windows is telling me that the programs or utilities dont work, the programs are still running and working fine it seems.

for now i set the firewall monitoring options to the one that lets me monitor one myself rather than windows doing it but i still want to fix this problem. i was able to get windows to detect its own firewall but i dont want that one as sunbelt kiero is better. both programs were working fine up until the system restore and i even tried undoing that restore and going back but now its not letting me restore to any date listed. would this be fixed if i run my windows xp cd and see if any important files are missing/deleted and need to be replaced from the ones on the cd or is it not going to help?
