i have a problem, and i don't think it is a virus but it makes me nervous. you know when you plug a usb device into your computer (with windows), and when you want to take it out you click the "safely remove hardware" icon that is next to the system clock? well i just started my computer back up and that little icon is there, but i have no usb devices plugged in. Instead, when i click on it, it shows my hard drive C: and the partition E: as being removable items.
so this is confusing because my hdd is internal and why would it appear with the "safely remove hardware" icon? i can't remove it, when i try it says "the device 'st3250823as' cannot be stopped right now. try stopping the device again later." i resolved the problem on my own, turns out that the latest nforce platform drivers i installed for my motherboard came with an IDE controller driver. Since windows already has one, the nvidia IDE driver was causeing my hard drive to appear as "removable hardware" Last edited by MrPink; December 3rd, 2006 at 00:48. |
