Corrupt
I have a little problem.
I can't delete a file, infact, I tried in safe mode too. The whole PC freezes at 68% when I tell it to Error check (which schedules one at restart). What can I do? I think Azureus screwed my filesystem when canceling a torrent and clicking end now... FINALLY... okay, the file has been deleted, after repairing at $0 of file 25 blah index blah... Oh god, I ran it again... IS THIS HEALTHY? Now everytime I run it, it either says "deleting an index entry from index $0 of file 25" or "repairing an index entry from index $0 of file 25" Index $0 of file 25 is pissing me off Apart from that the random "object missing or duplicate" message. if you scheduled that scandisk from within windows i think you forgot to put a check on the ''automaticaly fix file system error'' because in your attachment chkdsk is complaining about the /f parameter not set

how long did you leave it when you say it hang because chkdsk is slow n fixing things like these, last time it took chkdsk almost 2 1/2 to fix my disk. if you cant be bothered to wait, do your chkdsk at night when you go to sleep and leave it all night, boot to recovery console and do what mr.killjoy suggested.hey btw mogster since your from uk maybe u can tell me where to buy a gameshark 2 disk. i got a post in the games section but nobodys replying.

Gameshark is for U.S. Action Replay is for U.K. but if you specifically need Gameshark for a U.S. game (and you've got a modchip for your PAL console (if it is)) then look on Gameshark's official website, eBay, Amazon U.S., Shopping.com etc. |

Amazon.com lets you ship to UK from their US store.
It costs more though... Okay, CHKDSK gets stuck on 5% of verifying file data. DEFRAG stops constantly with the defrag finish screen displaying a message with "some files on this volume could not be defragmented", when you click "view report", the list of files that could not defragment is empty. Something on the hard drive fishy? Last edited by mogster; December 1st, 2006 at 20:38. |

defrag will not finish cause of system file error, if it will defrag with the error in the file system error, it will mess up all your files thats why it will not finish and you must fix the error 1st. when you stop chkdsk, how long did you wait? and is the hard drive led is still on?
you could also run the drive manufacturers own diagnostic tools and see if it fixes your trouble Thank You For Registering SeaTools! - Seagate Technology Downloads sory dont know the link for other brands |

I did it successful CHKDSK, it took fricken ages. But Defrag never seems to complete without the message...
Meh, I'll cope with this install until Vista. It's just File System errors, yah? I've never seen any bad sector reports, threshold warnings or anything. Speedfan reports my HDD is very healthy. Last edited by mogster; December 1st, 2006 at 23:53. |
