Am I still able to try out Vista RC2, before deciding to buy Vista??

Am I still able to get the Release canadate 2 of Windows Vista off of the Microsoft Website. I am asking because I'm bringing my computer to a hotel tonight, and will have access to a high speed internet connection.

I would so like to try out Vista before buying it, and obtaining the beta's or Release canadates are the only legal way of me being able to try Vista, before I actually decide to buy it.

I've been to the Microsoft Website, but I didn't see any links to download the Release Canadate/Betas from them.

Or did they stop them, cause of vista coming out in a couple month's?

Thanks if anyone can let me know

Those builds have been made available to MSDN subscribers. Vista has RTMed, so these builds are considered obsolete compared to the big thing. And boy, there was much difference indeed, especially concerning the minimum hardware requirements, wich got lowered in a shocking way.

MSDN subscribers have 180 days limited access to retail Vista (thatwill expire after 180 days). Just for the info, those who contributed with Vista all got themselves a FREE onetime download link to a full version of any Vista dition they'd like (one that is NOT cippled, exactly similar to the retail one except for lack of fancy packaging)

Can I still try those builds, such as the betas and stuff legally, or am I forced to wait and buy the final version?

I'd really like to try it before I decide to buy it, So I can decide whether I'll upgrade or if I'll stick with XP.

Is it Illegal to now download the builds that are pre RTM?

I hope I'm not stepping into dark waters here

You only need to have a valid RC2 key actually, I believe. YOURS !

Even if Microsoft removes the RC2 download from MSDN, I dot think getting one from a torrent site would look grey. They prefer to plug only the latest versions to developpers, thats why.
